The Doylestown Subaru is a repeat supporter of local non-profit Fostering Hope
Fred Beans Subaru of Doylestown recently wrapped a Subaru Loves to Help donation drive in partnership with Operation Warm. At the end of February, the dealership donated new shoes and socks worth hundreds of dollars to local non-profit Fostering Hope Bucks. The items will be distributed to foster families.
The Fred Beans Subaru team collected donations from mid-January through the end of February. Subaru corporate provided marketing materials and funds to support the drive as part the company-wide initiative and partnership with Operation Warm, a national non-profit that manufactures brand-new, high-quality coats and shoes for children in need.
“Our Fred Beans Subaru team embraces the Subaru brand’s HEART Pillars model – Honesty, Empathy, Appreciation, Respect and Trust through the many ways they go above and beyond to take care of customers, including charitable efforts like this one,” said Beth Beans Gilbert, vice president of Fred Beans Automotive Group. “Their commitment to customers and community not only strengthens the Subaru brand, but also our Fred Beans brand, because we share these same priorities.”
The donation drive was a team effort with contributions from Subaru, Operation Warm, Fred Beans team members and customers to benefit families served by Fostering Hope Bucks. One of the non-profit’s main features is the Foster-Share Closet, which is filled with items to donate to children and adolescents entering foster care. Fostering Hope holds a special place in the heart of Fred Beans Subaru General Manager Danny Pavone. Pavone and his wife, Samantha, are currently fostering a child, who they have welcomed into their family with their daughter and two sons.
“There is some good giving around here,” said Pavone. “Even if they walk in here without something, they’ll come back when they see our Subaru Loves signs and what we’re working toward. We have such loyal customers, always reminding me that we’re so much more than a car dealership.”
Last year, Fred Beans Subaru participated in Fostering Hope Bucks – Bags of Hope, an initiative that provided drawstring bags filled with everyday essentials like toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, body wash, deodorant, feminine hygiene products and more to children and adolescents entering foster care. The bags even included an activity designed to help a child adjust to his or her new home. Pavone says he hopes to participate in this again in 2024.
Subaru is proud to be the largest automotive supporter of Operation Warm. Through this partnership and other historical Subaru Loves to Help efforts, Subaru and retailers, like Beans, have helped over 750,000 children and adults in urgent need so far.
