As jazzed as we were to see our favorite automaker break the Guinness World Record for the "Largest Parade of Subaru Cars," it's been far too long since we here at Fred Beans Subaru had some good old-fashioned sales numbers to send your way. Not sure why that is, especially given the way these new and used cars of ours have been flying off the lot as of late, but now that the numbers for June have arrived, have we got some news for you.
Long story short, we're looking at a year-over-year sales increase of 42% from Subaru's sales numbers in June of 2012. As for what caused such a surge in sales that ultimately clocked in at 39,235 units, all signs seem to be pointing to the 2014 Subaru Forester and the 2014 Subaru Outback.
In regards to the 2014 Forester, the nameplate posted a year-over-year sales increase of 41% with 10,170 units sold last month. In regards to the 2014 Outback, our signature SUV moved 12,210 units, a 32% increase over the units sold in June of last year. Needless to say, the brass at Subaru are mighty pleased with the numbers.
"We are thrilled to close the first half of 2013 with such record numbers," says Thomas J. Doll, president and chief operating officer at Subaru of America, Inc. "Our products are being well-received and we are looking forward to adding Subaru's first-ever hybrid vehicle to our product line-up later this year."1
So until that day comes (and it can't come here fast enough), feel free to take a spin in one of these best-selling beauties at our dealership here in Doylestown, PA. What can we say, folks, the numbers don't lie.
