At first glance, it might look like a Subaru Impreza... But we assure you, it's not. The all-new 2013 Subaru SV Crosstrek is a compact crossover that's actually based on the same platform as the compact subie, and it's taking the automotive world by storm. After all, consumers love the styling of crossover vehicles, but hate having to pay for it at the pump. That's why this new model gives the style and utility of a larger vehicle, with the fuel economy of larger one.

In case it wasn't already obvious, we here at Fred Beans Subaru are quite excited for the 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek; so much so, in fact, that we've even dug up information on the vehicle's recent launch in Europe. There, it's simply called the Subaru XV, but it's still based on the same solid platform.

Overseas, the new Subaru crossover is being offered with a diesel engine option in addition to a petrol one. Subaru is currently claiming that the XV diesel will achieve a combined 50 miles per gallon, which has us wanting to see it Stateside. Most likely, however, the diesel powerplant will stay in the U.K.

The 2013 Subaru XV is being offered in three distinct trim levels: S, SE, and SE Lux Premium. The entry-level S trim snags you automatic climate control, heated mirrors and front seats, 17-inch alloy wheels, and a multi-function display... Not bad if you ask us. What about the other trim levels? The second-tier SE trim nets cruise control; dual-zone climate control; rearview camera; USB, iPod, and Bluetooth connectivity; and privacy glass. And finally, there's the top-of-the-line SE Lux Premium trim, which treats drivers to the highest level of comfort and convenience. It boasts a sunroof, keyless entry, push-button start, navigation system, and leather upholstery.

Of course, we know you're likely wondering when we can expect to see the all-new 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek here in the United States, right? While Subaru has confirmed the model for a U.S. launch, they've not yet established pricing or availability. For now, Fred Beans Subaru, located at 830 N. Easton Road in Doylestown, PA, simply asks that you wait for more information.
