If you think the Subaru Outback is the right pick for your commutes through Warminster, Doylestown, and Philadelphia, the team at Fred Beans Subaru agrees. This iconic crossover is a great vehicle for hitting the streets and having fun while doing it. However, your decision making doesn't end there. Now it's time to find the trim that's right for you.

For a brief overview of what each trim has to offer, check out our 2020 Subaru Outback trim levels guide below. This will let you know what's standard in each one, allowing you to find the Outback that'll perfectly suit you. Let's jump right in!

Subaru Outback

The base-level trim of this crossover is simply called the Outback, but nothing is basic about this trim. This is equipped with a 2.5L Subaru BOXER® I-4 engine that delivers 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque. It also comes standard with Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD) that can help you maintain a firm grip on snowy roadways. In fact, every trim of the 2020 Outback offers this intelligent AWD system.

If safety is a priority of yours, you'll be happy to hear that the EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology suite is a standard feature across all trim levels of the 2020 Outback as well. This suite includes smart safety technology such as:

  • Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering
  • Lane Departure and Sway Warning
  • Pre-Collision Braking
  • Lane Keep Assist

Another technology included with this base trim level is the SUBARU STARLINK™ infotainment system. This system places a 7-inch touchscreen in the center stack on which you can view information from your Apple CarPlay™ or Android Auto™ connected device. These features allow you to fully integrate your smartphone apps and answer phone calls, stream music, or even access your navigation app.

2020 Outback Premium

The next trim in the Subaru Outback lineup is the Premium. This includes all the amazing features above, but offers more upgrades and additions that you and your family will love.

One of the most noticeable upgrades in the Premium trim is the STARLINK™ Multimedia Plus system. This presents you with a whopping 11.6-inch touchscreen and control over the 6-speaker sound system for more entertainment behind the wheel.

This trim also comes standard with tons of all-weather additions and amenities found both inside and out. On the outside, you'll be all-weather ready with the addition of LED fog lights and available heated exterior mirrors and windshield wiper de-icer. On the inside, there are heated seats as well as a Dual-Zone Climate Control System that allows you and your passenger to set your preferred temperature.

2020 Subaru Outback Limited

Next up is the Limited trim, which gives you even more standard features to play with. This is especially true for your cabin, which receives a lavish transmission.

The Limited trim upgrades your interior by trading in your cloth seats for leather-trimmed upholstery that looks and feels like a dream. Plus, both front seats are now power-adjustable and can be set 10 different ways for the driver and eight ways for the passengers. Additionally, this model also comes with a driver's seat memory function. This allows you to get your seat back the way you like it with just the press of a button if someone else has been behind the wheel of your car.

Three additional safety features are included at this trim level. They include Blind-Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist, and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. These systems help you navigate crowded areas by alerting you to cars in your side and rear blind spots. Lane Change Assist also notifies you if traffic is approaching too quickly in your intended lane to allow for safe merging.

The Touring Trim Level of the 2020 Subaru Outback

After the lavish Limited trim of the Outback is the Touring trim that, you guessed it, comes with everything you see above and more. When you upgrade to the Touring trim, you're treated to Nappa leather-trimmed upholstery and a heated steering wheel to make your commutes cozier and optimally stylish.

You'll also have the refined technology of the upgraded multimedia system: the STARLINK™ 11.6-inch Multimedia system with Navigation. This presents you with turn-by-turn directions on your larger dashboard touchscreen, so you can always keep on track. The 6-speaker sound system is also switched out for the Harman Kardon® Premium Audio System with 12 speakers and a 576-watt amplifier.

XT Editions

If you're looking for more oomph under the hood, the 2020 Subaru Outback has you covered with their lineup of XT trims. This includes the Onyx Edition XT, Limited XT, and Touring XT. All of these models feature the advanced 2.4L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that elevates robustness with 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque.

However, most of the features in the trims stay the same as their non-XT counterparts. This is different with the Onyx Edition that features 18-inch wheels with aluminum alloy black finish, crystal black folding side mirrors, and StarTex water-repellant upholstery. These features are exclusive to this trim.
